1. Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information EthnicBNB may collect, why we collect it, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you may have.

EthnicBNB works as a marketplace between guests and hosts. This means we may need to process personal information from both sides. Guests may provide details to search, book, pay, communicate, and complete stays. Hosts may provide details to create listings, manage availability, receive bookings, communicate with guests, receive payouts, and comply with local requirements.

We do not collect personal information only for the sake of collecting it. We use information to run the platform, provide services, improve user experience, protect users, prevent misuse, and meet legal or business requirements.

Some parts of EthnicBNB may include search filters related to food, language, culture, local preferences, religion, ethnicity, family needs, accessibility, or similar discovery choices. These features are meant to help users find suitable stays and communicate better. They are not meant to support discrimination, exclusion, harassment, or unlawful denial of service.

2. Who We Are

EthnicBNB operates as an Indian travel and hosting marketplace under the public enterprise or business information shown on the Company Details page of the platform.

For privacy purposes, EthnicBNB may collect and use personal information related to visitors, guests, hosts, account holders, support contacts, and other users who interact with the platform.

When this Policy says “EthnicBNB,” “we,” “our,” or “us,” it means the EthnicBNB platform and the entity responsible for operating the services, unless the context clearly says otherwise.

When this Policy says “you” or “user,” it means any visitor, guest, host, account holder, applicant, support requester, or other person using or interacting with EthnicBNB.

3. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through:

EthnicBNB websites, mobile pages, mobile apps, booking tools, hosting tools, search tools, communication tools, account pages, payment and payout features, support channels, feedback forms, emails, messages, uploaded documents, and related services.

This Policy applies whether you are browsing the platform, creating an account, booking a stay, hosting a property, messaging another user, contacting support, submitting documents, making a payment, receiving a payout, leaving a review, or using any other EthnicBNB feature.

This Policy does not fully control how third-party websites, payment gateways, banks, map providers, communication services, analytics tools, government portals, or other outside services use your information. Those third parties may have their own privacy policies, security practices, and legal responsibilities.

4. Personal Information We Collect

The type of information we collect depends on how you use EthnicBNB. We may collect the following types of information:

Account information, such as your name, email address, mobile number, password, profile photo, language preference, account settings, and communication preferences.

Booking information, such as stay dates, check-in and check-out details, guest count, itinerary, selected listing, booking status, cancellation terms, payment status, refund status, messages, and support history.

Host information, such as listing details, property address, property type, room details, amenities, availability, pricing, house rules, photos, videos, documents, payout details, tax details, and host support history.

Verification information, such as identity documents, business details, tax information, payout verification details, address verification details, or other information needed for trust, safety, payment, payout, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Preference information, such as food preference, language preference, cultural preference, local experience preference, accessibility needs, family-related preferences, travel style, religion or ethnicity-related discovery choices, or similar information that you choose to provide.

Technical information, such as IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, approximate location, cookies, session data, log data, referral pages, pages visited, buttons clicked, search activity, and platform usage activity.

Communication information, such as messages, reviews, ratings, support tickets, emails, call notes, chat records, complaints, uploaded evidence, and feedback.

Payment-related records, such as transaction ID, payment status, refund status, payout status, gateway reference, invoice information, tax records, and chargeback or dispute information.

5. Information You Give Us Directly

You may give us personal information when you create an account, update your profile, search for stays, save wishlists, book a stay, contact a host, contact support, submit a review, upload documents, list a property, manage a listing, or use payment and payout features.

For guests, this may include your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, booking details, stay requirements, guest count, food or language preferences, check-in needs, special requests, messages to hosts, payment records, and support requests.

For hosts, this may include your name, contact details, property information, listing description, property photos, availability, pricing, house rules, bank or payout details, tax details, identity or business verification records, and communication with guests.

You should provide accurate and updated information. If you provide incorrect information, some services may not work properly. For example, a wrong phone number may prevent booking communication, a wrong payout detail may delay host payment, and incorrect guest information may create check-in or compliance problems.

6. Information Collected During Booking and Hosting

When a guest books a stay, EthnicBNB collects and creates booking-related records. These may include booking dates, number of guests, selected listing, price, fees, taxes, discount details, payment status, cancellation rule, refund status, host response, guest messages, support requests, and booking history.

When a host manages a listing, EthnicBNB collects and stores listing and hosting-related records. These may include property details, calendar availability, pricing, minimum stay rules, cancellation settings, house rules, guest communication, reservations, payout history, tax information, and support records.

We use this information to manage bookings, show accurate information, reduce booking conflicts, help users communicate, calculate payments and refunds, support cancellations, handle disputes, and keep proper business records.

7. Identity, KYC, and Verification Data

EthnicBNB may collect identity, KYC, host verification, guest verification, tax, payout, or document information where needed for trust, safety, payment, payout, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.

This may include identity proof, address proof, business information, property permission records, tax information, payout verification details, or other documents depending on the situation.

Verification helps improve trust, but it is not an absolute guarantee. A verification label, badge, or status should not be treated as a promise that every host, guest, property, document, listing, or stay has been fully checked in every possible way.

Users should still make careful decisions, read listing details, follow platform rules, and report suspicious activity.

8. Location, Food, Language, Culture, and Preference Data

EthnicBNB may allow users to search or filter stays based on location, food preference, language comfort, cultural relevance, local experience, religious preference, ethnicity-related discovery, accessibility needs, family suitability, or similar choices.

These details may be provided directly by you, added by hosts to listing pages, or generated through your platform activity. For example, you may search for a stay in a specific city, select a food preference, choose a language-friendly listing, or look for a host who has added cultural or local experience details.

We use this information to help users discover relevant stays, communicate better, reduce confusion, and improve booking experience.

These features must not be used to discriminate, exclude, insult, harass, or deny lawful service to any person. EthnicBNB supports inclusive discovery. Food, language, culture, religion, ethnicity, and identity-related information should be used respectfully and lawfully.

9. Payment and Payout Information

EthnicBNB may collect and store payment-related records needed to process bookings, refunds, cancellations, host payouts, tax records, invoices, fraud checks, and support requests.

Payment card numbers, CVV, card PIN, UPI credentials, wallet credentials, net banking passwords, and similar sensitive payment details are normally handled by authorised payment gateways, banks, or payment partners. EthnicBNB should not store CVV, card PIN, full card credentials, or banking passwords.

We may store transaction references, payment status, refund status, payout status, invoice details, tax details, payment gateway response records, chargeback records, and support notes.

Payment gateways, banks, card networks, wallet providers, UPI systems, and other payment partners may process your information under their own rules, security standards, and privacy policies.

10. Cookies, Device Data, and Usage Information

EthnicBNB may use cookies, session storage, local storage, analytics tools, security logs, device identifiers, and similar technologies.

These help us keep users signed in, remember preferences, improve search results, understand platform performance, detect fraud, prevent abuse, improve security, and make the website easier to use.

Cookies may collect information such as browser type, device type, IP address, pages visited, search filters used, buttons clicked, session activity, approximate location, and referral source.

You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings. If you block some cookies, certain features may not work properly. For example, login sessions, saved preferences, security checks, or booking flows may be affected.

11. Messages, Reviews, Support, and Uploaded Content

EthnicBNB may process messages between guests and hosts, reviews, ratings, support tickets, feedback forms, call notes, emails, screenshots, documents, and other uploaded content.

We use this information to manage bookings, support users, investigate complaints, prevent fraud, detect abuse, enforce policies, improve services, and maintain user trust.

Messages and reviews should be honest, respectful, and lawful. Users should not share unnecessary sensitive information in messages or reviews. Users should not upload false documents, misleading screenshots, abusive content, private information of others without permission, or illegal material.

EthnicBNB may review communication or uploaded content where needed for safety, support, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, or policy enforcement.

12. Why We Use Personal Information

EthnicBNB uses personal information for the following purposes:

To create, verify, and manage user accounts.

To allow guests to search, compare, save, book, cancel, review, and manage stays.

To allow hosts to create listings, manage availability, accept bookings, communicate with guests, receive payouts, and manage hosting records.

To process payments, refunds, invoices, taxes, fees, commissions, payouts, and chargebacks.

To show relevant listings, prices, search results, filters, recommendations, and booking information.

To send booking confirmations, payment updates, cancellation notices, refund updates, payout updates, support messages, safety alerts, and service messages.

To improve trust, safety, fraud prevention, platform reliability, customer support, user experience, and service quality.

To investigate complaints, enforce policies, prevent abuse, detect suspicious activity, and protect users.

To comply with legal, tax, payment, consumer, privacy, security, and record-keeping obligations.

To improve EthnicBNB features, design, performance, search quality, and marketplace operations.

13. Consent and Lawful Use of Information

Where required by law, EthnicBNB may ask for your consent before collecting or using certain personal information. By providing information, using relevant features, or continuing with a booking or hosting action, you may be giving consent for us to use that information for the stated purpose.

Some information may be used because it is necessary to provide the service you requested. For example, we need booking details to confirm a stay, payment details to process a booking, and contact information to send booking updates.

Some information may be used for legal compliance, fraud prevention, safety, tax records, payment records, dispute handling, or legitimate business operations.

If a feature requires certain information and you choose not to provide it, that feature may not work. For example, a host may not be able to receive payouts without payout details, and a guest may not be able to complete a booking without required booking and payment information.

14. How We Share Information

EthnicBNB may share personal information only where reasonably needed for platform services, legal compliance, safety, payment processing, fraud prevention, support, or business operations.

We may share information with:

Hosts and guests, where necessary for a booking, stay, communication, support issue, safety matter, or legal requirement.

Payment gateways, banks, wallet providers, UPI providers, tax tools, payout processors, fraud-prevention providers, identity verification providers, hosting providers, cloud services, analytics providers, communication providers, email or SMS providers, customer support tools, and technology vendors.

Government authorities, courts, regulators, police, tax departments, payment authorities, or legal bodies where required or permitted by law.

Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, legal consultants, business partners, or restructuring parties where needed for lawful business operations.

We do not sell your personal information as a separate product. We also do not allow users to misuse booking information for spam, harassment, discrimination, or unrelated marketing.

15. Data Shared Between Guests and Hosts

When a booking is made, EthnicBNB may share necessary information between the guest and the host.

A host may receive guest information such as name, booking dates, guest count, booking status, contact route, messages, check-in needs, and lawful guest-record details where required.

A guest may receive host or listing information such as host name, listing address or approximate location before booking, exact check-in details after confirmation where appropriate, house rules, contact route, and stay instructions.

Guests and hosts must protect each other’s information. They should use booking-related information only for the booking, stay, support, safety, or legal purpose for which it was shared. They must not misuse it for harassment, spam, discrimination, unrelated marketing, public posting, or any unlawful purpose.

16. Payment Gateways and Service Providers

EthnicBNB uses third-party service providers to operate important parts of the platform. These may include payment gateways, banks, payout processors, cloud hosting providers, email providers, SMS or WhatsApp communication providers, analytics providers, fraud-prevention tools, identity verification tools, customer support tools, map tools, and security services.

These providers may receive only the information reasonably needed to perform their services. For example, a payment gateway may need payment and transaction details, while an email provider may need an email address and message content to send a booking confirmation.

Third-party providers may also process information under their own privacy policies and compliance duties. EthnicBNB is not responsible for every independent action of third-party services, but we aim to work with providers that support secure and lawful processing.

17. Legal, Safety, and Fraud-Prevention Disclosures

EthnicBNB may disclose information where necessary to:

Prevent fraud, fake listings, payment misuse, identity misuse, chargeback abuse, account abuse, security attacks, or other harmful activity.

Respond to emergencies, safety concerns, crime reports, violence, threats, property damage, medical emergencies, or urgent risk.

Protect the rights, safety, property, or legal interests of EthnicBNB, users, hosts, guests, service providers, or the public.

Comply with legal notices, court orders, police requests, tax rules, payment rules, regulatory requests, consumer complaints, or lawful government demands.

Enforce our Terms of Service, Hosting Agreement, Cancellation Policy, Payments Policy, community rules, and other platform policies.

Handle disputes, complaints, refunds, cancellations, reviews, investigation records, or support issues.

18. Marketing and Communication Preferences

EthnicBNB may send service messages related to your account, booking, payment, refund, cancellation, payout, security, support, legal updates, or important platform changes. These messages are not always optional because they may be necessary for the service.

We may also send optional marketing messages, offers, updates, travel suggestions, host tips, newsletters, or promotional communication where permitted.

You may opt out of marketing communication where an opt-out option is available. Even after opting out of marketing, you may still receive important service, booking, payment, safety, legal, or account-related messages.

19. Data Retention

EthnicBNB keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy.

Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information. For example, account information may be kept while your account is active. Booking records may be kept for support, audit, tax, dispute, payment, fraud prevention, and legal reasons. Payment and payout records may be kept as required by accounting, tax, banking, and gateway requirements. Messages and support records may be kept to resolve disputes, investigate complaints, prevent abuse, and improve safety.

If you delete your account or request deletion, we may still keep limited records where required or permitted for legal compliance, tax records, payment records, fraud prevention, safety, dispute handling, audit, or legitimate business reasons.

20. Security of Your Information

EthnicBNB uses reasonable technical, organisational, and access-control measures to protect personal information.

These measures may include password protection, access limits, secure hosting practices, data backups, monitoring, security logs, fraud checks, internal controls, and restricted access to sensitive records.

However, no online platform, website, app, payment system, or communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should also take steps to protect their accounts. You should use a strong password, keep your login details private, avoid sharing OTPs, avoid suspicious links, update your contact details, and report suspicious activity quickly.

If we become aware of a security issue that affects your information, we will take reasonable steps as required by applicable law and platform policy.

21. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable law and platform requirements, you may have the right to request access, correction, update, deletion, consent withdrawal, grievance review, and marketing preference changes.

You may update some information directly from your account settings. For other requests, you may need to contact EthnicBNB through the support options provided on the website or app.

Some requests may be limited. For example, we may not be able to delete information immediately if it is needed for an active booking, payment record, tax requirement, fraud investigation, legal dispute, safety issue, chargeback, audit, or other lawful purpose.

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain privacy requests. This helps protect your information from unauthorised access or deletion.

22. Consent Withdrawal

Where we rely on your consent to process certain information, you may withdraw that consent through available platform controls or by contacting us through support options.

Withdrawing consent may affect your ability to use certain features. For example, if you withdraw consent for location-based services, some nearby search features may not work. If you withdraw consent for verification information, certain hosting, payout, or booking features may be limited.

Consent withdrawal will not automatically affect processing already completed before withdrawal, or processing that is needed for legal, tax, payment, fraud prevention, safety, dispute, or legitimate business reasons.

23. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your EthnicBNB account through available platform options or support channels.

Before deleting an account, we may need to check for active bookings, pending payments, refunds, payouts, disputes, complaints, tax records, fraud concerns, or legal requirements.

After account deletion, your profile may no longer be visible in the same way, and you may lose access to bookings, messages, wishlists, hosting tools, reviews, and account history.

We may retain limited records where required or permitted for legal compliance, tax, payment, refund, payout, fraud prevention, safety, dispute resolution, audit, or legitimate business purposes.

24. Children and Minors

EthnicBNB is intended for users who are at least 18 years old.

Minors should not create accounts, make bookings, list properties, or use hosting tools on their own. A minor may be part of a stay only under the responsibility of a parent, guardian, or lawful adult booking arrangement.

If we learn that a minor has created an account or provided personal information without proper authority, we may take steps to restrict, suspend, or delete the account, subject to legal and safety requirements.

25. International or Third-Party Processing

EthnicBNB may use service providers, technology tools, hosting services, communication services, analytics tools, or payment partners that process information in India or other locations, depending on service availability and legal requirements.

Where information is processed by third-party providers, their own policies, systems, security standards, and legal duties may also apply.

We aim to use reasonable safeguards when sharing information with service providers. However, users should understand that online services often depend on multiple technology, payment, communication, and infrastructure partners.

26. Changes to This Policy

EthnicBNB may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Changes may be made because of new features, legal updates, payment changes, security improvements, business changes, or platform improvements.

When we update this Policy, we will change the “Last updated” date. For important changes, we may provide notice through the platform, account message, email, or another reasonable method.

Your continued use of EthnicBNB after a Policy update means you accept the updated Policy, unless applicable law requires a different process.
